Trauma-Informed Counselling in Leighton Buzzard
Sometimes what weighs us down isn't always visible.
Life doesn't always fall apart in obvious ways.
Sometimes it looks like always being the one everyone relies on.
Putting everyone else first.
Feeling anxious but pretending you're okay.
Lying awake because your mind won't switch off.
Smiling because it's easier than explaining how you really feel.
Or carrying things from your past that still affect your life today.
If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
My own life experiences inspired me to become a counsellor. I know how difficult it can be to ask for help, especially when you've spent so long trying to cope on your own.
You don't need to know exactly what to say when we meet.
You don't need to have everything worked out.
We'll simply start with whatever has brought you here today.
Hello, I'm Carlie
Client Testimonial
I'm a qualified trauma-informed, person-centred counsellor based near Leighton Buzzard.
I offer face-to-face counselling from my private therapy room, walking therapy in a peaceful countryside setting and online counselling across the UK.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons.
Some have experienced trauma.
Some are living with anxiety.
Some feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed or as though they've lost themselves somewhere along the way.
Whatever has brought you here, we'll take the time to understand it together.
I won't rush you or expect you to have all the answers.
“I found the counselling to be amazing. I didn’t expect to complete the full 12 sessions and was unsure at first if it would be right for me — but after just two sessions, I realised how helpful and healing it was.
Carlie made me feel truly comfortable and at ease. I was able to open up and share things I’ve never shared with anyone before. The benefits of doing that have been incredible.
Carlie is an amazing human and deserves every success — I know she’ll achieve so much going forward. This work has given me a new lease of life, and the life I so desperately needed.” T.M male Client
You Don't Need to Know Where to Start
One of the biggest worries people have before counselling is,
"What if I don't know what to say?"
The truth is...
You don't have to.
Some people talk from the moment they sit down.
Others need a little time.
Some sessions are emotional.
Some are full of laughter.
Most are somewhere in between.
There isn't a right or wrong way to come to counselling.
You don't need to rehearse what you're going to say.
You don't need to worry about saying the wrong thing.
We'll simply start where you are.
What I Can Help With
I work with adults experiencing:
• Trauma and complex trauma
• Anxiety
• Burnout
• Low confidence and self-esteem
• Emotional overwhelm
• Grief and loss
• Relationship difficulties
• Childhood experiences that still affect life today
• People pleasing
• Feeling stuck
You don't need a diagnosis to come to counselling. If life feels harder than it used to, that's reason enough.
What Counselling With Me Is Like
Counselling isn't about having someone tell you what to do.
It's about giving yourself the time and space to talk about the things you've been carrying.
Sometimes we'll untangle thoughts that have been going around in circles for years.
Sometimes we'll notice patterns that suddenly make sense.
Sometimes we'll sit with whatever feels important that day.
Every session is different because every person is different.
My role isn't to have all the answers.
It's to listen, ask the questions that matter and help you make sense of things in your own way.
My hope is that, little by little, life starts to feel less heavy.
